Will having hair extensions look false or look like I'm wearing a wig?
I match all extensions perfectly to your own hair's weight and colour or, if you prefer, we could colour your hair for that perfect match so you get a very natural look. Extensions shouldn't look like they are extensions - that's the secret.
How long do hair extensions last for?
All extensions will last around 3 months and if looked after well they could last longer. When I'm applying them for you, I'll tell you how to care for them and keep them in good condition.
How long does it take you to apply hair extensions?
The time to apply hair extensions varies depending on if you want a full change of length or just a few to enhance your own hair. A few streaks or stripes will obviously take less time than a full head of hair.
Typically, it can takes anything from 30 minutes to 7 hours to apply hair extensions. By far the majority of applications can be completed in a very reasonable space of time. If you tell me what type of thing you are looking to achieve, I can give you a much clearer gauge as to how much time you'll need to put aside for it.
I'm worried that after I have hair extensions my hair can't be touched. How do I keep my scalp clean and what if my boyfriend runs his hands through my hair?
With hair that great, it's hardly surprising that he'll want to touch it more! Don't worry - the hair extensions are applied about one centimetre away from the scalp so you can still touch and wash your hair as normal.
Does it require a lot of work to maintain hair extensions? Are they difficult to upkeep?
Hair extensions are actually very easy to look after, although you will probably notice that it will take a little bit longer to dry and style your hair because you will have more of it! You can treat hair extensions pretty much like you would your own hair except you need to buy the correct brush and shampoo and conditioner.
Do you mean that I can style my hair extensions?
Oh yes! You can use a hot hairdryer, straighteners, curling tongs and heated rollers or just let your hair dry naturally. Hair extensions will dry with a natural wave if you do that, but as you can see, they can be styled however you want.
Can you ever have too many hair extensions? Could it damage my hair?
Yes, there is a limit and that's why it's worth your while choosing an experienced hair extension stylist, like myself, to apply your hair extensions for you. Having seen so many heads I know exactly how many hair extensions to put onto your own hair and how much your hair can take. When you use me to apply your hair extensions, I'll make sure that we only use a safe number so that there is no danger to your natural hair.
So is it damaging having hair extensions?
It might be if I glued them to your head, but I don't. The bonding we'll use when I apply your hair extensions is a keratin based bonding (not glue!) so it is non-damaging to your hair.
How do you take the hair extensions out?
To remove hair extensions, we'll use a solution that dissolves bonds, extensions just slide out. It's that easy! There's no painful tugging at your hair to go through, but I do advise not to take hair extensions out at home if you do not have the correct solutions and knowledge.
How much will hair extensions cost?
